The Jackson Senators
have secured their spot in the final playoffs of the CBL Championship
series. Tonight, they added to their streak with a 10-1 defeat of the
San Angelo Colts in the first of a best of 5 series. The Senators will
be hosting the second game Tuesday night, then traveling to San Angelo,
Texas for the final 3 games, beginning Thursday.

The Jackson Senators were named the CBL's organization of the year. The CBL commissioner, Miles Wolff, said of the Senators, "Jackson's quick success is a testament to a well-oiled operation and a city that embraced the new team." |

The bizarre events of Wednesday morning, Aug 28, resulted in the loss of one of Time Out's closest friends and co-workers. The results of exactly what took place have yet to be determined and Eddie's loss has left his friends and family grief-stricken and dismayed. Eddie worked at Time Out for 4 years and was well respected and loved. His integrity made him someone who could be trusted and his easy-going manner attracted people to him with ease. His generosity of self was felt by everyone he encountered. Funeral services will be held at Crossgates Baptist Church at 3pm. Eddie will be buried in Mobile, AL Monday morning, Sept 2. |

| After the first 4-man playoff
in the history of the British Open between Els, Levet, Elkington & Appleby,
Els and Levet go head-2-head in a sudden death playoff on hole 18. Levet's tee shot went into a fairway bunker, while Els' second shot found a greenside bunker. Both men recovered well, getting on in 3 each. In the end, Ernie Els wins the Open by 1 stroke over Thomas Levet in sudden death. |
